A Novel Chrysanthemum-Like Fractal Structure Multi-Band Antenna for Mobile Terminals

This paper incorporates the structural characteristics of chrysanthemums in nature and fractal geometry theory into antenna structure design a novel-structured multiband microstrip with chrysanthemum petal is proposed. The can cover commercial frequency bands from second to fourth generation (4G), satellite navigation, wireless local area networks, Bluetooth. radiator imitates chrysanthemum’s petals nature, basic arc shape iterated many times according certain proportional coefficient. After simulation comparison, iteration achieve best performance, adopted coplanar waveguide feeding method broaden bandwidth. covers three effective 1.58–2.68 GHz (64.7%), 2.76–4.01 (33.9%), 4.68–5.35 (13.4%). dielectric board made FR-4 material, constant 4.4, actual size 41 × 29 1.6 mm3. performs at small size, approximate calculation band completed by comparing ratio each ring current vector diagram. use HFSS for modeling parameter optimization, model under different conditions were compared analyzed. By test results prototype electromagnetic anechoic chamber, rationality verified.
